[Table #6/Prompt #36: Spider Web] The Legend of Zelda: 'Fate's Decree'
Title: 'Fate's Decree'
Fandom: The Legend of Zelda (spoilers for 'Breath of the Wild')
Prompt: Table #6/Prompt #36: Spider Web
Character/Pairing: Link
Rating: G
Summary: This is what you were born to do.
Authors Notes: Fic = Mine. Characters = Not Mine. Crossposted to
ficlets for Prompt #14: Wanderer.
The time has come to see your quest to its ultimate fruition. You have liberated the Divine Beasts, along with the souls of the Champions trapped therein. You've brought relief and hope back to Hyrule, after a century of decay and sorrow.
Now, all that is left is to defeat the Calamity Ganon.
The ruins of Hyrule Castle loom before you amid the wreckage of Castle Town. Its bulk, formerly a symbol of this land's strength and prosperity, now looks like a cursed hand, scraping against the sky. Swirls of Malice do nothing to encourage you.
Overall, you have the sense that you're preparing to enter a vast spider's web of your own volition.
But, if everything that you've learned in your wanderings can be true, then this is your destiny. This is what you were born to do. You, and you alone, can pass the point of no return and have any chance of returning.
Heart racing, you accept fate's decree, and take the first steps into the web.
