This bond is more than mere friendship. At its very core, it's much more of a sisterhood.
Rachel may have two sisters; and Phoebe may have an identical twin sister. But they only feel a sisterly closeness with each other and Monica. Some links are stronger than a blood connection.
Life was never going to be easy. But, with somebody who cares about them watching each other's backs, it helps to take some of the pressure off, and makes things much more fun.
