galorechallenge is a returning Crossover Fic Challenge from LiveJournal where you would find a crossover, grab a prompt & start writing! NO CLAIMING NESSARY! Post your story to the community (or at least link to it) once you're done. Feel free to grab more than one prompt, and more than one crossover! There are no limits on how much you can write per round. Check out the rules for more information.
Also once the round ends, we'll vote on our favorites by fandom & you can get a fancy award. Or if there is only 1 crossover for a particular fandom, it will move on to the next round.
While it is a multi-fandom challenge, and SO MANY fandoms are allowed, there are some restrictions, so check out the fandoms currently allowed.

Finally made some banners/new header/layout for the community & prompt website and used some of my favorite female characters from various fandoms: Mel (Charmed Reboot), Carol Danvers (MCU), Villanelle, Zari Tomaz (Arrowverse), Cara Mason (Legend of the Seeker), Bex Henderson (Hunting Party), Wednesday, and Kate Sharma (Bridgerton). Made mostly in honor of it being Women's Month, but also because I wanted to. Also made the font bigger, 'cause that fit better now that the new header is bigger.

I'm going to try and think of some new crossover prompts for galorechallenge - I feel like there is a lot of gaps, especially with all the new fandoms I've added over the last few months, but that might be slow going depending on inspiration/time, so seriously if anyone have any ideas, please suggest them here.

In other news, I also updated Muse-Insanity.org/Icons with everything I've made this year so far. Hopefully I didn't miss anything.

40daysofdrabbles is still happening! If I happen to have missed a day or two, I will add multiple prompts the same day to "honor" the day(s) I missed.

She insisted on sorting her animal crackers, which seemed like a harmless enough childhood quirk, even when she kept putting aside all the sheep for later. When her parents found a stash of them, very stale though not yet mildewed, under the bed, she became inconsolable at the thought that they would throw the inedible treats away. The cookie sheep had to be saved up in sufficient quantity to count as a good sacrifice, they were informed in dire tones, and neither of them had yet worked up the courage to ask to whom she intended to sacrifice them.

Um, I don't have a lot else to talk about because I've just been in 24/7 Pokopia cycle...I definitely feel like it was worth buying a Switch 2 for and, as much as I hate to suggest dropping that much money on something, I highly recommend it. I finished that "story" of it and cried at the end, so like. idk. I don't have smart words right now because I'm hungry ;w;

I also took a bunch of screenshots while playing, because it's soooooooo fuckin cute and I wanna make icons of everything *w* But there's also sooooo much to do that I get overwhelmed, so I'm thinking of sitting down and making a Plan for each area instead of just running wild. I wanna make some nice towns!!!

Not dead. (feel kind of dead.) Mostly watching the world burn.

Did manage to crawl past my birthday without bonfire or getting arrested despite Familial Bullshit, though, so that's a bonus?

After having spent way too many years scratching my claws against the glass that is Final Fantasy and what Squenix has been doing to and with it, I've stopped yelling and started a replay of FFVII along with

kalloway -- this is probably the only smart thing I've done since the new year, fannishly, and I hope/plan to see it through. There's other games/hacks I really should get (back) to also. It's time to embrace digging a comfortable hole and climbing in and damn the rest of the world, yo.

Yoroi Shinden Samurai Troopers continues to be a goddamned joy, and I wish I could say I'm surprised to discover that the YST fandom in Japan is just as goddamn pathetically losing as the Western branch but nope, here we are.

Aside from that I've successfully pruned my icons here to 150 so I can drop to standard paid painlessly; I'm done paying for essentially nothing ("premium"), but I'm unhooking slowly. I still need to get the energy to make my own site, but tinkering around on omg.lol has been going well so far; I also got me some paid virtual hosting and spun up that tiny IRC server, but I think I might wipe the host and re-do as a Discourse server because forum+chat feels like it might be more useful in the future.

There's probably something else but I can't think of it right now.

As people stepped out into the gray morning, they found themselves rendered mute as well, farewells to family and greetings to carpooling coworkers tapering off into nothing. Most hurried back indoors, coughing to clear the fog from their lungs, but some remained outdoors, enjoying the quiet, even and especially their own.

What. WHAT. WHAT ELSE COULD THIS MEAN???? Like I know I'm setting myself up for disappointment, but that sounds like vague teasing Double Face reunion.............

I MEAN. THEY DIDN'T GET A FANTHANX. SOBS.

But like for real I'm gonna lose my mind waiting to see how this pays off. I can't even put it into words because I'm sooooooooo just *clenches fist* insane about these two. Clearly they don't have to be in a unit to spend time together (we now have two canonical trips they've taken together post-disbandment), but I really like Double Face's music. So I want more ;w;

Maybe we didn't get Sleeper Mystery Train or Secret of Metropolis added in the 2024-2025 cycle because they're saving them for when DF gets back together...that's the lie I'm telling myself, okay.

Also the quote retweets on that are just like.......soooooooo many Double FacePs crashing out and crying about it. Like. This isn't just me making shit up; we're all making shit up together.

Anyway I found out about this because Liz called me from work to wake me up so I could be insane with them XD Which is so real ngl- sometimes you just gotta scream together. But this also means I've been going nuts since I woke up, and playing a bunch of Pokopia did not temper it. Instead, I've just been vibrating at a frequency that can shatter glass while trying to be chill.

......so Liz and I are gonna work on cosplay when they get home from work as a way to direct this madness XD If we really go hard, we could finish their first feature scouts in time for peak cherry blossom blooms in DC, and wouldn't that make for a nice photoshoot?? Or if nothing else we could take them to Sakura Matsuri :T Either way, I'd like to get them done, since we bought the fabric before Joanns went out of business (RIP).

Everything is bad *jazz hands* but on Sunday I managed to replace my janky mouse with one that has a functional thumb-operated scroll button. One that doesn't periodically freeze, jump, uno reverse, or play other similar psy-ops on my cursor. Unbelievably irritating, especially when gaming.

Though I still intend to eventually get an ergonomic controller to attach to my PC, for gaming purposes. Eventually.
