Title: 'Fair Is Fair'
Fandom: Downtown no Gaki no Tsukai ya Arahende!! (spoilers for the Haunted Hotel batsu game)
Prompt: Table #6/Prompt #37: Haunted
Character/Pairing: Matsumoto Hitoshi
Rating: G
Summary: It feels like all those hours spent by himself in that creepy place just went to waste.
Authors Notes: Fic = Mine. Characters = Not Mine. Crossposted to
sesquidrabbles for Challenge #31: Harm.
So the inn wasn't haunted, after all. Matsumoto doesn't feel like he should be altogether surprised, given his ambivalence regarding the concept of ghosts. But he can't help but be irked at knowing. It feels like all those hours spent by himself in that creepy place just went to waste.
There's been no real harm done, apart from shaving a few years off of his life by scaring the hell out of him. It's all in fun, in the end. The audience has gotten their jollies, and his fellow members have gotten their much desired revenge on him for the Onigokko game. In the long run, fair is fair.
But the least the crew and his castmates could have done was to leave him at an inn with a genuine reputation for being haunted. It's embarrassing, to know that he was taken in so easily by a bunch of lies.
