There's going to be Hell to pay. Once this special brand of Hell has been survived, at least. One form of Jigoku in exchange for another; something about that seems fair.
Hamada doesn't remember the last time that twenty-four hours ever felt quite this long. His stamina is draining, and it doesn't take much looking to see that his kouhai are in the same boat. They might be younger than he is, but they look equally exhausted. The Oni are giving them all a damned good fight.
Under the direction of the worst Oni of them all.
Damn that Matsumoto! Hamada can just picture his Downtown partner, lurking behind the scenes. Chuckling at every attack. Plotting and scheming, seeking out and exploiting every available weakness. Waiting for the opportunity to spring some fresh nightmare on them all--and on Hamada, in particular.
Not that Hamada can blame him. Not entirely. In a similar position, he'd be doing the exact same thing. And, if he's offered the opportunity, he will do so, in a heartbeat.
One way or another, Hamada has every intention of being the instigator of a richly-deserved act of revenge. And he knows that it won't require much effort to lure Cocorico and Yamasaki over to his side, and against the man who's subjected them to this torture. After all that they've endured, they'll surely jump at the chance to be the tormentors, next time around.
If vengeance truly is sweet, then Hamada can't wait to enjoy it.
