sesquidrabbles for Challenge #29: Bomb Spoilers for the 2015 Detectives No-Laughing Special.
There's nothing about the annual Batsu games that Hosei would consider to be "easy". There's no tenderness. It's a tough and draining part of his career as a comedian.
But the Oni segment is always one of the worst. He knows--fully expects--to be the butt of some insane stunt.
Having a bomb strapped to his chest, though? That may be taking things to a slightly more extreme level.
Of course it's just a prop. No production crew in their right mind would put a valued cast member in a position that could potentially result in permanent bodily harm. But the home viewers are expecting his tendency to be over the top and melodramatic. And he'll be damned if he'll disappoint the fans.
It's just a prop bomb, a dummy. He knows that perfectly well.
But there's a tiny shred of him that's relieved when it harmlessly goes off.
